Coming to The Buttery for many residents is an opportunity to start focusing on their personal fitness and health. Apart from yoga, which is part of the program, many like to use the gym equipment out on the deck to get fit and keep fit during their stay here. The current equipment is pretty old and rusty so any donations of new equipment or of money which may be directed to purchase it will help residents maintain their personal exercise program.

Whipper snippering, gardening, painting, varnishing the deck, scrubbing surfaces and general cleaning etc. The current Buttery has 4 acres to maintain with 4 houses. The Buttery Community Building has under its roof - administration, outreach offices, kitchen, communal dining, yoga hall and of course The Buttery Fundraising Office where they will happily process your pledges of support!

With all the rain lately the garden has run amok and we are down one mower. We need four to maintain the grounds on work day.
New garden trailer
Cost: $3,500
Roy Dennet our maintenance man, who has been with The Buttery since 1974 uses a trailer weekly to take rubbish, recycling, garden clippings and tree prunings to the tip. The trailer is also used for moving fundraising event signage / artwork panels and other gear around. The trailer required needs to be rust proofed hence the more expensive price tag.
NB: This "shopping list" is a guideline for donation allocations. Tax deductible donations are made to The Recovery Gift Fund and monies are allocated from this fund by The Buttery Board of Directors towards maintenance of The Buttery facilities (an amount of 10% is included for administration costs).DONATED ITEMS: with all your good intentions of giving us pre-loved items, we can only accept NEW ITEMS.
