Di Morrissey - background
made up stories, finding that writing came naturally. That became her dream - the thought that one day her stories would be in books for other people to read. After years as a journalist and TV presenter, wife, diplomatic hostess and mother, Di returned to her dream realising that she had to jump off the cliff, get out and simply to write. Eventually in 1991 “Heart of the Dreaming” was published to huge success, as were the many books to follow. All of Di’s books are born out of the landscape of a particular place. Each book comes as what Di calls “a strange gift” brought by whatever fateful circumstance arise. They are mass market, mainstream entertainment, yet with a depth and complexity beneath the surface exploring issues that interest, engage or concern Di and bring enjoyment to her readers.

James Guppy - background
James Guppy paints gently subversive interpretations of love, sex and death with side notes on futility and the nature of beauty. His work does not fit easily into the usual categories. More of an absurdist than a surrealist, he takes apart the traditions of western art to create haunting and engaging artworks that transforms the way we see the world around us.
He emigrated to Byron Shire from the UK in 1982, continuing his work as an arts lecturer and muralist. By 1990 he was exhibiting as a gallery artist both in Australia and overseas. His work has received many awards and been hung in major exhibitions. It is held in numerous collections around Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States.
