'Dealing with subject matter that is afraid of you, lends a whole new meaning to the word patience! ' says Jane who will reveal some of her secrets learned from countless hours spent stalking the tiniest of game. 'Participants will learn how to approach 'bugjects' and capture images that express the real beauty of the moment, moving away from grabbing snapshots.'
The workshop also teaches the essential tools of editing and Jane will encourage you to dip into the great pool of digital mastery.

2 day photography workshop program

Sat May 24 10.00am-4.00pm

We start with a guided tour of Jane's current exhibition at the Waywood gallery and learn Jane's principles of Artomology.

On Saturday afternoon we head into the wilds of Byron Shire's own wetlands in search of the elusive, with the world's leading Artomologist as tour guide. Jane will encourage us to get 'down and dirty' in search of interesting subjects

3.00pm: Convene back at Waywood Gallery to swap tales of what images were caught on safari and 'the one that got away'...

4.00pm: Participants can arrange to return to the wilds to gather more images.

Sun May 25 10.00am-4.00pm
10 -12.00 midday: The art of the selective edit and self critic.
1-3.00pm: Creating a story with our images and unveiling individual style.
3-4.00pm: Time to show and tell.

What equipment will participants need to bring?
A digital camera is essential - and it must have a close-up function that participants know how to use.
A digital SLR with a close up filter set or macro lens will deliver the best results.
Field trip into the Byron Wetlands. As you will be heading off in to nature for part of the workshop, be sure to wear long trousers; bring a hat, waterbottle, sunscreen as well as socks and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.
