ARTIST STATEMENT
These paintings began as a series of works about the model planes and gliders that my father made, how I remember them suspended in the sky, the frames translucent against the sun. When I was a boy I made endless drawings of planes, trying to get the subtle curves and angles just right to capture the grace of flight. I also imagined dark and sinister planes raining bombs and spitting fire like triumphant hot rod war machines. In this series of assembled works I once again explore and indulge in these totemic boyhood visions.
