ARTIST STATEMENT
Carry
The mythical bird carries the emerging feminine from the test of innocence into the initiation of life and influence. The woman carried by the sacred bird comes "through" the door of initiation ready to influence her world in whatever way seems right for her. In connection to the bird see knows her truth and her power and the beginnings of love.
Release
This painting gives expression to the enthusiastic expression of youthful sexuality and freedom, silently witnessed by the proceeding generation. One is unsure as to the opinion of the older generations view on this exuberant celebration of life, however the innocence of the young woman sustains her.
Sacred Union
The meeting of two souls, the journey of union often has tenuous beginnings. This painting expresses the vulnerability and the strength as well as indicates both the opportunity for freedom and the constraints that are always implicit in the journey of sacred union
