Isolde Kopping

ARTIST STATEMENT

For me art is the visual expression of emotion. Moody landscapes, a complex human face, a delicious moment in time – as an artist I am the instrument that translates these vibrations into visual experiences. To really capture these subtle and yet distinct vibrations, I employ different media for each work, such as translucent beeswax and oils for yellow autumn light, or moody charcoal for the early morning mist in the hills. My large nudes are sensuous and soft, painted in smooth oils and based on the poses of black and white art photography.
Maybe my art intrigues you, or makes you feel good, or touches you in some special way. Whatever it is, all feeling is meaningful on some level – as is all art.
