Southern Cross University Young Artist Award
Thanks to the sponsorship of Southern Cross University we are now inviting young artists aged 16-18 to submit works for exhibition and sale at the FEHVA 2008 Art Auction and Banquet, Thursday May 29 at the A&I Hall in Bangalow .

Curator’s review and selection of images and info.

Artists pre-selected will be announced on the FEHVA website by May 15
Where selected works will be posted.

Delivery of pre-selected works directly to Bangalow A and I Hall.
May 21-23
Southern Cross University Young artist incentive award of $500 will be judged by representatives of FEHVA and Southern Cross University.Final selection for hanging will be made by Robert Bleakley and two guest selectors (to be announced ). This selection process will also choose which artworks will be put up for auction and which artworks will be for sale.
May 25
Exhibition Opening evening with featured performing artists
Southern Cross University Young artist incentive award of $500 will be announced by a representative of Southern Cross University.
May 29
Art Auction, sale & banquet, the winning young artist will have their work auctioned amongst the line up of prestigious artworks going under the hammer.
Up to 10 artworks submitted by young artists aged 16-18 will be selected to hang as part of the FEHVA exhibtion and Auction. The Young artists incentive award will be selected from these hung artworks. As well as a cash award of $500 the winning artwork will become part of the prestigious lineup of artwork chosen to go under the hammer at the FEHVA art auction on May 29th.
Popular Choice Vote
The work of young artists will also have the opportunity of being part of the Popular Choice Vote . The exhibition will continue until the end of FEHVA a tally of popular choice votes will be done and the winner announced in local media within 10 days.

FEHVA weekend of panel discussions
The FEHVA website will remain up featuring artwork information including the price artwork sold for and number of popualr choice awards received.
Sales of artwork post FEHVA
Buyers can purchase any unsold works after the art auction and sale thru the FEHVA website until June 30th .
A submission form with full terms and conditions will be sent to artists in the New Year.
Art Prizes -In addition to the Art Auction, we will be inviting artists to enter the FEHVA 2008 Portrait Prize.
For new media artists, we will have more information in the New Year regarding FEHVA Video Art.

in order to enter the Southern Cross University Young Artist Incentive Award
you need to be aged from 15- 18 years of age.
Submission time extended: In order to submit artwork we require a jpeg image of artwork/s and details sent to dee@buttery.org.au from you by May 1 2008.

6/ RRP$ 50% of the sale price is returned to The Buttery fundraising thru the arts project
7/ $reserve price - that is the least amount you would be prepared to sell the artwork for given you will receive 50% of this sale price.
8/ Updated CV and artist statement of no more than 100 words.

Artists agree that selected artworks will also be used in FEHVA art cards to help promote the event and be sold during the year to raise money for FEHVA as well as keep promotion of the event ongoing. Artists can purchase artcards at cost price.
Although we will endeavour to hang all selected work for The FEHVA art auction and sale the mix of work will decide the final hang which will take place from May 22nd- May 25th. However all selected work not hung will remain on the FEHVA website until June 30th. The Buttery/FEHVA reserves the right to make any decisions pertaining to artwork hung.
To assist us to promote your work successfully- please note an artist's submission will not be accepted unless all information listed above and jpeg image is sent .The jpeg images must be titled and accurately cropped - uncropped images or poor images will not be accepted as images need to be good quality for website display and promotional purposes.
